Introducing Bumi Studio
Bumi Studio is a purpose-driven brand offering affordable, sustainable products that make a meaningful impact on both people and the planet. The inspiration behind the brand began with the founder’s experience as a broke university student who wanted to choose eco-friendly options but couldn’t afford them. This frustration led to a powerful realization: sustainability shouldn’t be a luxury. Bumi Studio was created to bridge that gap—making environmentally conscious living accessible to everyone, regardless of their budget.
At Bumi Studio, the goal isn’t to oppose the use of plastic or materials that may harm the environment, but to ask: if there are better, more sustainable alternatives available, why not choose them—especially if they can be made affordable? This mindset fuels the brand’s mission. Most of Bumi Studio’s products are handcrafted by individuals with disabilities and people from underprivileged communities, offering not only quality items but also opportunities for meaningful employment and empowerment.
The well-being and support of Bumi Studio’s employees is a top priority. That’s why all employee support services during their time at Bumi are provided by its sister company, CASA Community—a registered NDIS provider dedicated to supporting people with disabilities through tailored services, skill development, and personal growth. Take me to Casa Community.
While Bumi Studio currently focuses on beautifully crafted ceramic products, the brand has an ambitious and purposeful vision for the future. Plans are underway to expand into cosmetics, clothing, and more—each product line guided by the same core values of sustainability, accessibility, and social impact. By choosing Bumi Studio, you’re not just purchasing a product—you’re becoming part of a movement that stands for fairness, inclusivity, and a better, more sustainable future for all.
Why Ceramics and Compassion Fit the Solution
-
Ceramics are made from natural materials like clay and minerals—they’re durable, biodegradable, and free from toxic chemicals commonly found in plastics (eha.eco).
-
Unlike single-use plastic items that break, fade, and go into landfill—or worse, leak microplastics into ecosystems—ceramic goods endure for decades, offering a circular economy alternative that’s elegant, functional, and planet-friendly (eha.eco, baldocer.com).
And Then There’s People Power
-
We didn't just want to replace plastic—we wanted to build community. So we founded Bumi Studio, a place where people with disabilities (supported by NDIS) handcraft ceramics and creative goods.
Every piece is made with care, creativity, and confidence—fostering inclusion, skill-building, self-expression, and meaningful employment.
